Event Description

On Sunday, October 14, 2018, beginning at 11 a.m. the Marketers of DeWitt (MOD) group will host the 4th annual DeWitt’s Great Pumpkin Festival in downtown DeWitt. This is a yearly community event that will host a great array of activities for the family. Some of the events include Pumpkin Derby Car Races, Pumpkin Painting, Kids Games including Pumpkin Bowling, Pumpkin Sling Shot, and Haystack Find, Scarecrow Decorating Contest, Kids and/or Pet Costume Parade, car show and guess the giant pumpkin weight! Craft and food vendors will line 6th Avenue in Downtown DeWitt.

“We will have lots of fun things for people to do during this one day festival” said Crystal Gray, chairperson of this event. “People love fall activities and this event will appeal to everyone in the family. Since DeWitt is only 20 minutes North on Hwy 61 from the Quad Cities, it’s an easy drive to our quaint little town. We encourage people to get out of the city and experience this event. She added, “For more information, visit our Facebook page “DeWitt’s Great Pumpkin Festival.”

There is still space for Craft and Food Vendors at this outdoor event. Those interested, please contact us through our Facebook page or you can email: dewittpumpkinfest@gmail.com . Craft and Food Vendor Booths are $25/ $35 and are on a first-come, first-served basis. The Pumpkin Derby Race participation fee is $5.00 per person. Instructions for building your derby car, race rules and tips will be found on the Facebook event page “DeWitt’s Great Pumpkin Festival”. We are also seeking community volunteers to help with the different activities. Please email or Facebook message the MOD group if you can help out.
