Persecution of German-Americans

After the United States entered World War I
there were concerted efforts to create support
for fighting against Germany. Among the
most unfortunate of these efforts were public
campaigns against U.S. residents of German
ancestry. This persecution took various forms,
often with violent results. This presentation will
encompass the persecutions on the national
level, with particular attention to Iowa.
