Event Description

After the United States entered World War I

there were concerted efforts to create support

for fighting against Germany. Among the

most unfortunate of these efforts were public

campaigns against U.S. residents of German

ancestry. This persecution took various forms,

often with violent results. This presentation will

encompass the persecutions on the national

level, with particular attention to Iowa.
