16 Winters, or the Bear's Tale
Shakespeare begins Act 4 of The Winter’s Tale with a monologue from “Time,” recapping the 16 years that pass between Acts 3 and 4. In 16 Winters, University of Iowa Playwriting alum Mary Hamilton imagines the journey that each character takes during this enchanted gap in time. To cope with his midlife crisis, King Leo, alongside the ghost of his son, fronts a dad-rock jam band. Escaped from the kingdom, Queen Her and Pauly retreat to the forest and contemplate a life without men. Refusing to follow in their parent’s footsteps, a group of teenagers schemes to shake up the world as we know it. Filled with music, love in all forms, cases of mistaken identity, a bear, and plenty of hashtags, 16 Winters asks if it’s possible to eliminate oppression to make way for a more equitable future. 2026-08-24 22:00:00 -0500

to the yellow house
Vincent van Gogh arrives in Paris determined to finally make his mark as an artist. Weaving between the years of 1886 and 1888, with a contemporary spin on the language and the characters, we are given a seat at the renowned Tambourin Cafe and invited into the Salon of the famed painters of the Petit Boulevard. Desperate to gain the recognition he believes he deserves, van Gogh must navigate his rocky relationships with friends, lovers, foes, and his high-achieving younger brother. Kimber Lee’s To the Yellow House asks, “What makes an artist?” and forces us to consider the cost of forging our own path. 2026-08-24 22:45:00 -0500
