Back Home Boys

Back Home Boys

Back Home Boys Description

The Back Home Boys formed in 1993 as a 4 piece
group. Over the years the band has grown into one of
Wisconsin and Iowa's premier and well known Country
Acts. This 6 piece group has some of the finest
musicians and best vocalists in the Midwest.

The same guys you see play each night are the same
ones that set up ,tear down the equipment that they
own, and then drive home to their families. They like
to interact with their fans and try not to be someone or
something they aren't. All of the band members are
from very small towns which makes this group even
more unique. A 12 pack, shining deer on gravel back
roads, and bullhead fishing at night was nothing out of
the norm for these guys while growing up.

Although the Group is primarily a Top 40 Country
Group... they can also tear it up playing some 70's and
80's Rock to accomodate all age groups and musical
tastes.

The Group has won several awards over the last
20 years... but has probably had their biggest success
in 2012. In the Summer of 2012, the band entered the
Texaco Country Showdown and competed against
several of Cedar Rapids, IA Top Country Groups at
the KISS 96.5 FM sponsored event. After winning 3
levels of the competition, the group became one of 50
finalists out of the 5,000 entrants.

Over the years, the Back Home Boys have played
almost every Wisconsin Music Festival and they have
shared the stage with some pretty big names including
Blake Shelton, Joe Nichols, Diamond Rio, Ronnie
Milsap, Charlie Daniels, Rascal Flats, Trace Adkins,
Brad Paisley, Jake Owen, Toby Keith, Little Big Town
and Montgomery Gentry just to name a few. The group
has a couple of members that have actually toured
with National Acts, and one which actually auditioned
for Country Super Group of the 90's, Shenendoah,
when Lead Singer Marty Raybon left.

Another of the group's accomplishments was winning
the HODAG competition in 2002 and 2006 in
Rhinelander, WI. Each year the contest started off with
around 25 bands from Wisconsin and Michigan and the
Back Home Boys came in 1st place each year they
competed. They held the Title 'Wisconsin Country
Band of the Year' each year.

Although the group has had a couple of friends
and talented members come and go, the current line-
up of the Back Home Boys has over 80 years of stage
experience in the Back Home Boys alone!!!! The
musical experience of the group as well as the level of
professionalism sets this group apart from all other groups.
