Camp Tanager

Camp Tanager Description

Camp Tanager serves children whose economic and/or medical needs might not otherwise allow them the chance to enjoy a summertime camp experience. Camp Tanager is solely funded by donations and offers a sliding-fee scale for medical camps, which gives all children the opportunity to attend regardless of their family income. Established in 1926 as a private, non-profit camp for children with health problems, today, Camp Tanager serves over 500 economically disadvantaged children each summer. Referrals are received from area school counselors and 88 different schools in Linn and surrounding counties. In the last 30 years, donors have made it possible for 18,000 at-risk children to experience the magic of childhood at Camp Tanager free of charge. Camp provides rich educational experiences for campers in an atmosphere of fun!
