Terrance Simien & The Zydeco Experience
Wednesday, July 26

Louisiana sounds will be popping up in Hancher’s backyard Wednesday night, when Terrance Simien & The Zydeco Experience brings its Grammy-winning Creole sounds to the Strauss Green. The public is invited to bring chairs and blankets for this free outdoor concert on the northwest side of the auditorium. Hancher presented the band in 2013, as part of the Summer of the Arts’ Friday Night Concert Series in downtown Iowa City. Hancher also took Simien around the state that summer to perform in Okoboji, Spencer, Algona, Fairfield and Muscatine. In 2016, the band played a similar pop-up concert to help usher in the new Hancher Auditorium. This year’s event coincides with the joint conference of the Iowa Presenters Network and the Plains Presenters Network, which Hancher is hosting.
