St. Joseph’s Day Parade
Saturday, March 18

After yer done paradin’ the green on Friday, break out yer red for Saturday’s St. Joseph’s Day celebration in Czech Village. The parade starts at 1 p.m. on Fourth Street SE in the NewBo District, crosses over the 16th Avenue Bridge of Lions and ends in Czech Village. Trophies for each category — walking, float and vehicle — will be awarded in the Kosek Bandstand, about 15 minutes after the parade ends. The fun continues from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday during the Czech Heritage Foundation’s annual St. Joseph’s Day Dance at the Ponderosa Ballroom, 195 First St. S, Walford. Kick up yer heels to Barefoot Becky & the Ivanhoe Dutchmen. Admission is $10 at the door, and proceeds support Czech Heritage youth programs. The event also includes food, door prizes, raffle, silent auction and bake sale.

Maple Syrup Festival
Saturday and Sunday, March 18 and 19

Indian Creek Nature Center is turning back time to the days when pioneers tapped trees to make maple syrup. The center’s signature festival will treat guests to syrup-making demonstrations and live music during this weekend’s pancake and sausage breakfast. Hop aboard a shuttle or hike the half-mile trail for a peek inside the Maple Sugar House; check out the education stations; and see a birds of prey program from 10 a.m. to noon. Want more? The Creekside Shop sells the center’s syrup for your own kitchen confections.

Decades Rewind
Saturday and Sunday, March 18 and 19

Take a trip down melody lane with Decades Rewind, featuring more than 60 songs from the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s, performed by an eight-piece rock band and six vocalists. They’re surrounded by rock ’n’ roll stage lighting, poignant videos of American culture, and more than 100 costume changes. From Abba to Zeppelin, Decades Rewind takes audiences on magical rock musical ride. The extravaganza debuted in Florida in 2015, and is embarking on its first national tour.
