Bridge to Opportunities for Older Adults
<p><strong>Come Play Bingo. </strong>Bingo, a social game of chance, is growing in popularity and is enjoyed by persons of all ages. One casino found that the age range of their bingo players was 18 to 84, with an average age of 38. Bridge to Opportunities for Older Adults
<p><strong>Planning April programs followed by Card & Board Games. </strong> During the 1<sup>st</sup> hour of Coffee & Chat we will begin by sharing ideas for May/June programs. Then stay to enjoy socializing while playing a card or board game. Decks of cards and some board games, like Dominos, Phase 10 and Clue are available. Or bring your favorite game to play with others. <p><strong>Gifts of Dementia with Teri Skoog.</strong> Although individuals experiencing dementia lose some cognitive skills, changes usually occur slowly over years. We often keep our primary thinking skills and continue to live in the present—fully able to enjoy beauty, emotions, and companionship. There are strengths and gifts in dementia and both you and your loved one will benefit when you understand how to recognize skills lost and skills kept. <p><strong>Cyber Security and using Facebook</strong>. Don’t want to miss out on the rich source of information, connection, and community available on the web, but also don’t want to be scammed? Following some basic safety precautions can ensure your online security while enjoying the benefits of social media and online resources. Bridge to Opportunities for Older Adults
<p><strong>Silly, fun, or serious Hat Contest. </strong>Join us for some fun by participating in our hat contest. You can choose a silly or serious design for your creation. Think of a theme; perhaps a passion of yours. Bring an old hat and some items for your theme to decorate your hat. Perhaps fish, biking, nature, or pet items. An example of a serious message hat, ‘Medication Matters,’ hat is on display.
