Connection Recovery Support Group
<p>NAMI Connection Recovery Support Group is a free, peer-led support group for any adult 18+ who is experiencing symptoms of a mental health condition. Journeys October Meeting - Get Organized
<p>Journeys was created in order to provide support to those in our community who have experienced the loss of someone they love, with the understanding that grieving hearts need care, connection, and access to helpful resources.</p><p>The October Journeys meeting will feature a presentation by Senior Move Manager Gina Ballestrasse-Ernster, owner of Smooth Moves by Gina. Gina will offer tips for managing clutter and getting organized, as well as guidance for those preparing for a downsize or move. Social time and refreshments will follow the presentation. Cost is free. No registration needed.</p><p>The meeting will be held at 2:30 PM on Monday, October 9, 2023 at The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood: 520 Wilson Avenue SW, Cedar Rapids. Soul Care: Creative Arts Grief Support Group at Prairiewoods
<p>Take time to connect with others in grief and engage the creative spark. Jamie Siela, LISW, from UnityPoint Hospice facilitates this monthly grief group open to anyone grieving loss through death. On the third Wednesday of each month, come together online or in person to explore a different creative art medium. On Oct. 18, we will create dimensional gift tags that can be used to add unique flair to gifts or admired as mementos. Participants will be invited to use a copy of a special photo or to use the materials provided. Registration is required by noon nine days in advance. Group art kits will be mailed to those who will be joining online one week prior to the session. Please note at registration if you plan to attend in person or online.
