Journeys - Eat Well. Be Well.
<p>Journeys is a social group that meets monthly at The Legacy Center at Murdoch-Linwood, offering opportunities to share a safe space with others who have experienced a loss. All are welcome.</p><p>The April Journeys meeting will begin at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, April 10, 2023, at Murdoch-Linwood: 520 Wilson Avenue SW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Walk With Ease

The program can benefit people with or without arthritis who want to live a healthier lifestyle. It’s a fun, safe six-week program, done as a group with a trained leader. Walk With Ease is a multi-component program that includes health education, stretching exercises, and motivational strategies to stay physically active. This program is known to improve physical and mental health, teach proper stretching and pain management techniques, and build stamina, strength, confidence, and walking pace. This group will meet three times per week for approximately 45 minutes. Bridge to Opportunities for Older Adults
<p><strong>Silly, fun, or serious Hat Contest. </strong>Join us for some fun by participating in our hat contest. You can choose a silly or serious design for your creation. Think of a theme; perhaps a passion of yours. Bring an old hat and some items for your theme to decorate your hat. Perhaps fish, biking, nature, or pet items. An example of a serious message hat, ‘Medication Matters,’ hat is on display. The Arc March
<p>The Arc is the resource of choice for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families in all stages of life. </p><p>As we celebrate our 70th anniversary in Cedar Rapids, we are walking once again in support of our Arc participants and their families. Our first goal is to raise $42,000 to help bridge funding gaps in our programs and services. Our 2nd goal is to fill the gym with enthusiastic friends and supporters as we continue to raise awareness about intellectual and developmental disabilities. <p>Join <em>The Journal of Gender, Race & Justice</em> (JGRJ) and <em>Transnational Law and Contemporary Problems</em> (TLCP) for discussions on the human rights implications of voluntary carbon markets and emerging geoengineering technologies developed to combat the climate crisis.</p><p>Our panelists will explore the pragmatic implications of these approaches as well as possible regulatory frameworks, nationally and internationally.
