Anam Cara Art Journaling at Prairiewoods

As John O’Donohue writes, “Anam is the Gaelic word for soul and cara is the word for friend. So anam cara in the Celtic world was the soul friend.” Facilitator Angie Pierce Jennings leads these monthly sessions, which stand alone, at Prairiewoods (120 East Boyson Road in Hiawatha). We will read and reflect on passages from O’Donohue’s deeply spiritual book Anam Cara: A Book of Celtic Wisdom. We will use the process of art journaling as a creative way to further contemplate and explore the concepts of the book. Feel free to bring a journal or mixed media tablet, colored pencils and watercolor paints. (We will have some art supplies available.) Artists of all experience levels, including beginners, are welcome. Feel free to enjoy this as a series or individual sessions. Please register by the previous Friday. The cost is $10 per session, plus the cost of the book (which is available in the Prairiewoods Gift Shop). For more information or to register, contact Prairiewoods at www.Prairiewoods.org or 319-395-6700
2019-06-30 14:30:00 -050012/17/191:00 p.m.Prairiewoods Franciscan Spirituality CenterHiawatha -
