Girls Getaway Weekend in the Amana Colonies

Girl time is the best time!

It’s been a busy year and the holidays are just ahead; time to take a break and get away. We planned the first weekend in November as a perfect time for a Girls Getaway Weekend. Ladies, this is just for you; come to the Colonies and relax and rejuvenate. We have a variety of activities planned with you in mind.

Fitness

End your relaxing weekend with some stretching and mimosas. Sunday we have a yoga class planned to get you up and going in the right direction.

Shopping

Maybe a little shopping therapy is in order. Stroll the streets of the village at a leisurely pace and hit a few shops. Maybe find something for yourself or sample our award-winning wines. We have 5 wineries in a 4 block area in the village of Amana. Each gives samples so you’ll be able to find the perfect wine for you. Rather have beer? Our brewery, the oldest microbrewery in the state, also gives samples and in their restaurant that evening there’s live music so you can wind down.

Foods

In the mood to sample some specialty foods? From chocolate & cheese to sauerkraut & brats we’ve got something for everyone to enjoy.

Antiques

The Amana Colonies have some of the best antique shops in the state of Iowa. You’ll find old treasures and unique items from days gone by. A walk through these shops is sure to bring back memories of your childhood or your grandparents. There’s a special item with a great story around each corner.

At Fern Hill in South Amana, not only will you find antiques but much more. On the Saturday of Girls Getaway Weekend, they showcase new products and vendors that will make your home look beautiful. Talk to the designers and get some great tips.

Arts

Stroll through our galleries and find your new favorite artist. Saturday a number of stores will have local artisans in house demonstrating and selling their art. The Amana Heritage Museum will also have a special Generations of Amana Art exhibit on display.

Grab your girlfriends and meet in the Amana Colonies for a fantastic Girl’s Getaway before the holiday rush. Oh, the guys are welcome too.
2023-03-07 20:00:00 -060011/04/2310:00 a.m.Amana ColoniesAmana -
