<p>This project involves twining with fine wire, and learning to blend color and shape the two separate pieces so that they form this one beautiful pendant. Or keep them separate for a pair of earrings. As an added embellishment, attach beads for a touch of elegance. No experience needed. BRIC Bike Ride of Iowa County
<p>The annual Bike Ride of Iowa County, also known as “BRIC” is scheduled for August 12th. This fun ride begins and ends in the village of Amana and travels through the northern portion of Iowa County. The ride registration begins at 9 am from the Hotel Millwright in Amana and includes numerous interesting stops with picturesque views along the route to Marengo and back. This is a 28-mile fun ride for all ages and no registration is required, just show up at 9 am, get a passport, and start riding. Get your passport stamped at each checkpoint and then enter it at last stop for a chance to win a $100 Amana Colonies gift certificate.</p><p>Bring the family, some friends, or any other bike lovers for a day full of fun, beer, and open-air. In the village of Amana, there are plenty of shops and attractions to visit and live music to enjoy in the evening. <p><em>Out & About: Queer Life in Iowa City</em> is an exhibition about some of the many LGBTQ+ people and organizations in Iowa City’s history. Across the decades, queer folks in Iowa City and at the University of Iowa have created spaces in which to gather, to find support, and build community. The exhibit invites exploration of the diverse and complex history of LGBTQ life through an Iowa City lens.</p><p>Documents, photos, artifacts, and ephemera from local archives help recount stories from the recent past about queer student groups, local businesses and organizations, and publications.
