Singing Bowl Prayer at Prairiewoods

Throughout history, singing bowls have been used around the world to foster meditation, relaxation, prayer and mind-body-spirit wellness. In this session with Rev. Dr. Catherine Quehl-Engel at Prairiewoods (120 East Boyson Road in Hiawatha), we will let the resonant sounds of Himalayan and crystal singing bowls relax the entire body and create a pathway for clearer connection with the divine. We will be invited to just receive and breathe. The cost is $8, and registration is required by noon. For more information or to register, contact Prairiewoods at www.Prairiewoods.org or 319-395-6700.
2022-12-10 13:30:00 -06002/13/2312:45 p.m.Prairiewoods Franciscan Spirituality CenterHiawatha -

Art Lovers Book Club Defiant Spirits: The Modernist Revolution of the Group of Seven by Ross King, Free

Beginning in 1912, Defiant Spirits traces the artistic development of Tom Thomson and the future members of the Group of Seven, Franklin Carmichael, Lawren Harris, A. Y. Jackson, Franz Johnston, Arthur Lismer, J. E. H. MacDonald, and Frederick Varley, over a dozen years in Canadian history. Working in an eclectic and sometimes controversial blend of modernist styles, they produced what an English critic celebrated in the 1920s as the "most vital group of paintings" of the 20th century.
2/16/234:00 p.m.Cedar Rapids Museum of ArtCedar Rapids -
