Grant Wood Revealed: Rarely Seen Works by an American Master

Launching the CRMA's year-long celebration of the 175th anniversary of Iowa's statehood will be an unusual look at Iowa’s most famous artist, Grant Wood. While known for his iconic American Gothic (Art Institute of Chicago) and other Regionalist works from his mature style, Grant Wood was constantly exploring styles, techniques, and media. This exhibition will bring together works from both the CRMA collection as well as from private collections to celebrate Wood’s inquisitive mind. Rarely-seen paintings will be joined by diverse metalwork pieces, drawings, and studies to construct a fuller view of Wood’s genius.
2021-03-04 20:00:00 -06003/04/2112:00 p.m.Cedar Rapids Museum of ArtCedar Rapids -

Growlers: Reactive Dog Obedience

This obedience class is smaller in size and designed for dogs that are aggressive both on and off leash. If you feel your dog is aggressive, overanxious, hard to handle in most situations, has bitten or may bite, then this is the obedience class for you. If you feel your dog meets the above criteria, then successful completion of this course is required before taking Dog Obedience I. This course sets up scenarios for owners to learn how to handle situations in which their dog may be reactive. Not all dogs will finish this course and be 'cured' of their reactivity, and the course is mostly focused on teaching owners/handlers how to handle certain situations that may arise with their pets. Students should bring vaccination records on the first night of class. Please do not bring your dog to the first class. Registration is required prior to the class start date. If you have questions or would like to register, please visit www.kirkwood.edu/ce or contact 319-398-1022.
2021-01-14 20:00:00 -06003/22/216:00 p.m.Cedar Rapids Animal Care and ControlCedar Rapids -
