Author Reading: Kristine Plum

Join us as we welcome author Kristine Plum to M and Bookstore.

Schedule for the Evening

5 to 6: Mix & Mingle | 6 to 6:30: Reading & Q&A | 6:30 to 7: Book Signing

Light refreshments may be served.

About Kristine Plum

Kristine Plum lives in Iowa, where she was born and raised, with her husband, son and canine children. Her childhood was spent on the family farm with the animals, especially puppies! A series of events and choices gave her unexpected life experience while still a teenager, that she’s still learning from today.

Kristine has been interested in history and the supernatural as far back as she can remember, and her imagination has always been wild. Her interests led her to degrees in History, Spanish, Music and Education from a small liberal arts college whose atmosphere helped to open her mind beyond the bubble of her small town upbringing, and helped further shape her into the person she is today. She passed on her aspirations to own a “living-history” castle museum in Europe to be a high school Spanish teacher.

She has been blessed to have the opportunity to travel within the United States and to Europe multiple times. Spain and Italy hold special places in her heart.

Working for over a decade in education gave her the determination, and courage to finally share one of the elaborate stories in her head with others. She greatly appreciates all of the support and encouragement from her friends and family!

The supernatural has always been part of Kristine’s entertainment. The very first chapter book she read was “Sweet Valley Twins- The Haunted House”, followed soon after by “Wait Til Helen Comes” by Mary Downing Hahn. In the sixth grade Kristine read L.J. Smith’s “The Secret Circle” which she still claims as her favorite book(s), and reads the three book series at least once a year. Her favorite TV show is, was and ever will be “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”. Although she has discovered enjoyment from other genres, usually recommendations from friends, she tends to stick to supernatural as her reading genre of choice.
2019-02-08 19:00:00 -06007/11/195:00 p.m.M & M BooksCedar Rapids -

She’s a sucker for happily ever afters and loves creating fictional worlds that others can get lost in. Evan loves putting her characters through the ringer, but loves when they get to that satisfying, swoony ending.

When the voices in her head give it a rest, she can always be found with her e-reader in her hand. Some of her favorites include, Aurora Rose Reynolds, (the queen) Kristen Ashley, Joanna Wylde, Madeline Sheehan and Harper Sloan. Evan finds a lot of her inspiration in music, movies, TV shows and life.

She’s a wife to Jim and a mom to Ethan and Evan, a cook, a tutor, a friend and a writer. How does she do it? She’ll never tell.
2019-02-08 19:00:00 -06008/08/195:00 p.m.M & M BooksCedar Rapids -

It wasn’t until she picked up romance novels in her late twenties that she found where she belonged. If a person cannot lead himself or herself, he/she then will be led by other people. This course will discuss the art and science of personal leadership. Students will study various contemporary theories of leadership and read stories and case studies on this subject. The objective of the course is to help students have an awareness and understanding of the keys to successful self-leadership. With these keys, students will be able to develop themselves to become great leaders.

NEWTONIAN PHYSICS – by Dr. James Wetzel, Assistant Professor of Physics: The scientific revolution started with Sir Isaac Newton’s development of classical mechanics in 17th century.
