Jordan Hamilton with Akwi Nji
<p>Jordan Hamilton with Akwi Nji at CSPS Hall on Friday, October 6, 2023 @ 8PM.</p><p>Cellist and vocalist Jordan Hamilton is a mix of mastery and maverick musicality; hip-hop influences, rhythmically layered, melodically robust. Driven by diversity, drawn to the cello's tone, cosmic strings calling souls home. Emotional energy crafted from integrity, immaterial and immortal, experienced at the speed of sound, with a bit of bounce, groove by the ounce, and all the jump you'll need to move. Akwi Nji is an interdisciplinary artist creating in words, voice, and visual art. Her work and words have appeared on stage from California's Wine Country to New York's Fashion Week and her collaborative partners include Emmy award-winning composers and nationally recognized videographers, musicians, dancers and choreographers, and photographers.</p><p>This is a General Admission seated show held in the theater of CSPS Hall. <p>The Department of Dance presents a rich program of both new and restaged works by faculty members and creative collaborators as well as a work by distinguished guest choreographer Aaron Samuel Davis. </p><p>Davis is an African American choreographer, performer, and teaching artist who has worked with David Rousseve/REALITY, The Limón Dance Company, David Dorfman Dance, Kyle Abraham/A.I.M, Raja Feather Kelly/The Feath3r Theory, Nicholas Leichter Dance, Giorgia Maddamma, Ben J. Riepe, and 10 Hairy Legs.
