Event Description

Join local artist, Lauren Manninen and learn about the timeless art of Japanese paper marbling or "suminagashi". Suminagashi translates to 'floating ink' where upon ink is floated on water to create swirling organic patterns. Once marbled the paper is ideal for collage or book binding

About the Artist

Lauren is a Cedar Rapids artist who received her BFA in Painting from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 2014. She also studied abroad in Japan at the Osaka University of arts.
