Event Description

Life is made of change. It always has been. But in the 21st century, the changes come faster and closer together. How can we pause to make sense of our changing world and to better understand our choices in living with change, whether it’s personal or global? This yearlong series of twelve stand-alone online programs and three in-person retreats takes a deeper dive into Karen Hering’s book Trusting Change, exploring how to engage our memory and imagination when encountering the uncertainties of the present day. On the second Tuesday of each month, Karen will lead an online session of embodied practices, guided reflection and conversation with a specific focus of how to make change more trustworthy. (The Feb. 13 topic is Letting Go.) Three optional in-person retreats at the Christine Center and Prairiewoods in the spring (April 19–21 at the Christine Center), summer (a focused retreat for writers, July 19–24 at the Christine Center) and fall (Oct. 25–27 at Prairiewoods) are open to all, whether you’ve participated online or not. The cost of the monthly sessions is $15. For more information or to register, contact Prairiewoods at www.Prairiewoods.org or 319-395-6700.
