Come journey around the world with us! Violinist Miera Kim and cellist Carey Bostian take the audience around the world with works inspired by Greek, American, Gullah, Lebanese, Chinese, and Argentinian folk traditions. Expect music that makes your heart ache, transports you to another land, and makes you want to dance. VOYAGERS will include world premieres of five new works by composers Wajdi Abou Diab, Jimmy Kachulis, Victoria Malawey, Lauren McCall, and Roydon Tse.

VOYAGERS is the second of three programs featuring commissioned works for violin and cello inspired by folk music from around the world. FRESH FOLK (2023) featured 6 new works from Ukraine, Finland, Argentina, Scotland, the Philippines and the American West. CULTURAL PASSPORT (2025) will feature new works from Korea, Iran, Mexico, Finland and Vietnam.

This series of concerts is made possible by the National Endowment for the Arts, Thse Iowa Arts Council, The Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation, Farmers State Bank, Hills Bank, the City of Marion, AEGON Transamerica Foundation, the Giacoletto Foundation, the McIntyre Foundation, and the Grandon Foundation.
