Event Description

Join us as we remember the dearly departed and the many ways in which their legacies live on in our community. Linn County Unburied reminds us that we remain connected to those who came before us—and that we ourselves are shaping the future for those to follow.

The Czech National Cemetery is one of the largest cemeteries in the Cedar Rapids area. In August of 1895, a group of Czechs formed the Bohemian Cemetery Association, to acquire land for a new cemetery. 10 Czech organizations contributed $200 each to purchase 14 acers along C St. SW. The purpose of the association was to offer affordable lofts to the Czechs. Each Czech organization had representatives on the Cemetery Board. Join us for Linn County Unburied as we learn more about the Czech National Cemetery.
