Event Description

Take time to connect with others in grief and engage the creative spark. Jamie Siela, LISW, and Jackie Koster, BSW, from UnityPoint Hospice facilitate this monthly grief group at Prairiewoods (120 East Boyson Road in Hiawatha) that is open to anyone grieving loss through death. On the second Wednesday of each month, children and the adults who support them are invited to come together in person to explore a different creative art medium. (A similar group for adults is offered on the third Wednesday of each month.) In March, we invite you to join us as winter winds down and we're looking for signs of spring. We’ll throw off those winter doldrums and bring some new life inside! We’ll use the Japanese tradition of Kokedama to create living balls for plants to live on. You can place them in or outside your home as a reminder of the life you have, even in times of loss. Registration is required by noon a week in advance. This in-person group is free and includes all art supplies and dinner. For more information or to register, contact Prairiewoods at www.Prairiewoods.org or 319-395-6700.
