Muscatine and the Civil War exhibition presents original documents, personal artifacts, and a re-created battlefield campground to explore the stories of the Muscatine people who endured the struggles of the Civil War. A visual projection of Muscatine soldier Daniel J. Parvin reading from his letters helps visitors encounter the realities of camp life. This exhibition feature was originally installed in the 2011 Civil War exhibition and was funded through a grant from the Roy J. Carver Charitable Trust.
Hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Thursday evenings until 7:00 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
