The 1896 Kimball Pipe Organ at the Union Sunday School will again grace an audience with its beautiful notes for the 46th annual Union Sunday School Concert Series. Montauk Historic Site, in partnership with the Clermont Historical Society, is excited to announce that Sidney, a University of Iowa student in Organ Performance, will be performing the next concert of the series.
David Devine is a Junior BM organ major at the University of Iowa. At Iowa he studies under Dr. Gregory Hand. Prior to college, he studied under Dr. Max Yount. He is an active performer and has been awarded at competitions, including 1st prize at the 2025 Immanuel Lutheran Organ Scholar competition, in Evanston, Il, 2nd prize at the 2026 Twin Cities AGO competition, and 1st in the organ / piano division of the 2026 ICA competition. Recent performance highlights include the Oregon Bach Festival, and Adolphus Busch Hall, Harvard University.
Following the concert, the Clermont Historical Society will provide refreshments at the Clermont Opera House – one block from the Union Sunday School.
If you’ve never been to one of our concerts, come check it out! The annual Union Sunday School Concert Series features performances by trained musicians on the largest Kimball Pipe Organ in the United States. Built in 1896, the organ was a gift presented by former Iowa Gov. William Larrabee to his daughter, Anna, who was the church’s organist for more than 60 years.
