Event Description

Some people escape family life by going out for the evening. Ian Pope made a career out of taking notes. A stay-at-home dad with a dry eye for everyday absurdity, Pope turns family life, minor frustrations, and the general indignities of being a person into smart, good-natured stand-up. He’s a regular at Funny Bone Comedy Club, Don’t Tell Comedy, and the Midwest’s NO SLEEP showcase, with an invitation to Nate Bargatze’s clean comedy showcase in Nashville also on the résumé. Now the Iowa comic gets his first night at The Ideal. Close room. Good drinks. Dry wit. And, for at least a few hours, nobody asking Dad for a snack. Ian Pope performs Thursday, October 22, 2026, at The Ideal Theater & Bar. Doors open at 7 PM. Show at 8 PM. This event is 18+. Tickets are $17 in advance and $22 day of show, plus fees.
