How to Find Your Ancestors with Full Text Search topic for Genealogy Society Program.
The October 31st program of the Iowa City Genealogical Society will be the video “How to Find Your Ancestors with Full Text Search”. This program, given by David Quimette from Family Search, was presented at Roots Tech 2026.
Do you struggle to read handwriting in some historical documents? David Quimette will show us how Family Search uses generative AI to produce complete transcripts of documents in a variety of languages and scripts. He will also show techniques for searching by keyword, name, date and place. Then by using filter and search techniques you will find even more records of your ancestors.
The video will be shown at 9:30 AM at the LDS library, 2730 Bradford Drive. This program will not be shown via zoom.
