Twice as many violins as cellos! The standard string trio is violin, viola, cello and there is lots of music for that combination by many of our greatest composers. The less common trio, two violins and cello, has fewer works written for it but also some of the most charming. Violinist Amos Fayette joins us from Cleveland as we perform a new work by Michael Kimber, give the Red Cedar treatment to one of Bach’s Sonatas for Violin and Harpsichord Obligato, and round out the program with works by Dvořák and Oswald.
