Event Description

The Junior League of Cedar Rapids® (JLCR) is an organization of women whose mission is to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action,
collaboration, and training. Our vision is to serve Cedar Rapids and the surrounding community as catalysts for lasting change and a prominent source of female leaders for public and private service, advocating for issues relating to women and children on a local, state, national and international level.

The Junior League of Cedar Rapids is excited to celebrate 90 years in the Cedar Rapids
community with an anniversary gala like no other! Our event will take guests on a journey
through the history of Cedar Rapids as seen through the lens of The Junior League. Join us for an evening of celebration, reflection, and gratitude as we recap 90 years of community-
driven work and raise money to support current and ongoing community initiatives.

Beginning with the earliest days of our organization, our gala will showcase the community
work of The Junior League through the years. Guests will also have the opportunity to
engage with League members and learn more about our current initiatives and impact with
Bridging The G.A.P., a decade-long program aimed at providing crucial resources and
advocacy for foster youth in Linn County. The event will be held on the evening of Friday, April 12th at The Hotel at Kirkwood Center. Doors will open at 5:30pm.

We have set the ambitious goal of raising $90K for 90 years to honor JLCR’s commitment to our community. Funds raised for the event will support a variety of JLCR initiatives, including Bridging The G.A.P. and our commitment to women’s development and leadership training. This year, we have identified five additional community initiatives to support that honor the contributions of the women before us and build upon their legacy of community impact. These initiatives include: The Cedar Rapids Public Library ‘Inspiring Big Dreams’ capital campaign, Metro High School, The Catherine McAuley Center, The Cedar Rapids Parks Foundation, and Waypoint. Our community would not be the same without The Junior League’s impact. With your support, we can ensure this important work continues for decades to come!
