Event Description

The room was built in 1914 to keep quiet. We have other plans. On the last Friday of every month, The Ideal Theater & Bar turns its old silent-film house into the one floor in Cedar Rapids tuned to move you, house opening into bass, riddim, and techno, a sound system pushed to rattle your ribs and cut the highs clean, in a room small enough that the whole floor moves as one. Every subgenre has a place, every body has a space, and it runs 21 and up by design, a curated floor and not a college bar. No screens, craft cocktails in hand, nothing between you and the beat until last call. And you already know when it is. Last Friday. Every month. EDM Night at The Ideal Theater & Bar, in NewBo. Doors at 9 PM, 21 and up. $15 at the door, or RSVP and make it $10.
