Join Peace Iowa on Saturday, October 17 at 3 p.m. in the Robert A. Lee Community Center (Room A) to hear Cassandra Dixon report on her recent experiences volunteering with an international peace organization in Masafer Yatta, West Bank. Her work involves providing protective accompaniment to schoolchildren and standing in solidarity with Palestinians who engage in nonviolent resistance to the Israeli occupation. Cassandra will bring beautifully embroidered items from Women in the Al-Khalil cooperative, the traditional Palestinian tradition of cross stitch. They are great gifts and a way of standing in solidarity with these women.
